Christopher J. Ketchman, Psy.D., ABPP

Christopher J. Ketchman, Psy.D., ABPP, is board certified in Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology, and has expertise in cognitive behavioral intervention for a multitude of mental health conditions.  He completed his doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2004, and was subsequently licensed to practice psychology in the state of North Carolina.  Dr. Ketchman has specialized training in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression, as well as completed a specialization track in his doctoral program in forensic psychology.  He has served as the Operation Iraqi Freedom/ Operation Enduring Freedom clinical coordinator at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center, and was also a contract psychologist working with active duty soldiers during his tenure at Womack Army Medical Center.   Dr. Ketchman established the Haymount Institute for Psychological Services in January of 2008, and has since developed a full-service testing center, which serves a broad spectrum of psychological testing needs in the community.  Dr. Ketchman’s testing repertoire includes assessment of learning disabilities, intelligence, personality, autism/pervasive developmental disorders, ADHD, neuropsychological screenings, forensic evaluations, and pre-surgical evaluations for individuals planning to undergo Gastric Bypass, Spinal Cord Stimulator, Sexual Reassignment, and other surgeries.  More recent endeavors include the provision of forensic psychological evaluations for the local court system, and he continues to expand the clinical services of the practice by seeking out and meeting the diverse needs of the community.  In addition to the aforementioned duties, Dr. Ketchman serves at the Director of Clinical Training for doctoral and master’s degree eligible students, having established the Haymount Institute as an internship site in psychological assessment for individuals from various local universities in June of 2007.  Since it’s inception, the Haymount Institute has become a nationally recognized pre-doctoral internship site for graduate students nationwide by the Association of Psychology Post Doctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC), making it one of the first private practice establishments in the area to earn this distinction.  The institute is also in the process of receiving local endorsement to provide various much needed specialty services in the area.
