Laurel Flom, LCMHCA, LCASA, NCC

Laurel is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCASA). She earned her Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Graduate Certificate in Addictions Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She believes that healing begins in a space where people feel genuinely understood, and she works to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust and authenticity.

Laurel has experience supporting individuals living with PTSD, complex trauma, substance use concerns, ADHD, and Autism. She is fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is passionate about working with underserved communities, including LGBTQIA+ individuals. She understands that everyone's story is different and approaches therapy with curiosity, flexibility, and respect for each client's lived experience.

Her work is grounded in a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective and is guided by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). She works alongside clients to explore difficult experiences with compassion while helping them build greater psychological flexibility and move toward a life that feels meaningful to them. Clients often describe her as thoughtful, approachable, and genuinely invested in their growth.
