Laurie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Auburn University, a Bachelor of Social Work degree from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and a Master of Social Work degree from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Laurie has 8 years of experience in human services, including working in a group home, case management, and community outreach.

Laurie works with children, adolescents, and adults to manage mental health concerns and stressful life events. She utilizes a variety of modalities based on the individual’s needs and empowers them to recognize and utilize their own strengths throughout the therapeutic process.

Laurie believes that the most important aspect of therapy is building a trusting therapeutic relationship first. She strives to do that by providing a safe, judgement free space. She believes that the individuals are the experts on their lives, making collaboration a foundational aspect of each session.
