Sara McConnell is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She is a two-time graduate from Campbell University, with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She completed her internships at the Center for Personal Development Counseling and Psychological Services Center at Methodist University and at the Counseling Service Center at Campbell University.

Sara enjoys working with adults from a wide variety of backgrounds including the LGBTQ+ community, and has effectively provided therapy to individuals coping with depression, anxiety, trauma, panic, adjustment stress, and relationship concerns.

Sara practices from a person-centered, strengths-based, existentially-informed perspective. She incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness techniques, and Motivational Interviewing where appropriate. She believes every individual is different and needs an individualized approach to meet their goals. Sara works collaboratively with her clients to select an approach that works best for them, while creating an open, warm and encouraging therapeutic environment.
