Alfred is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville NC. He went on to receive a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville NC. Alfred completed an internship at Womack Army Medical Hospital in Fort Bragg NC. Alfred completed his clinical internship at The Haymount Institute.

Alfred’s core belief is that each individual process the internal strength to successfully navigate life’s complexities, and it is his desire/responsibility to create a safe environment that will allow them to discuss life issues, as well as to assist each individual to pull from that inner strength to become whole and happy.

Alfred has been in the helping profession for over 30 years, working with adults, adolescents, children and families. He has worked with the Military population active duty and their dependents utilizing shot term solution focused counseling in the United States, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Japan as well as the general population here in North Carolina. Alfred uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as other evidenced based practices to help individuals reach their full mental health potential, to discover their internal strengths, supports, and solutions.
