John ‘Tyler’ Gifford, LCSW

Tyler Gifford is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He received his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Pembroke and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Mars Hill University. Tyler’s professional experience includes working with individuals with a range of emotional concerns as well as having trauma informed  approach when working with clients. Tyler has his training in EMDR and has seen people be able to overcome their trauma with this intervention. Tyler enjoys witnessing clients overcome struggles and having freedom from their past.

Tyler provides a safe, confidential, and empowering space for people from all walks of life. He works with a variety of populations including the LGBTQ community, later adolescents, families, and members of the Armed Forces. He has maintained compassion to empower clients to be the best version of themselves.

Tyler believes that an eclectic approach to providing therapy is what helps people to achieve their inner greatness. By utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, EMDR, inner-child work, System-Perspective, and Strengths Perspective he will engage clients in what manner that best meets their needs. In Tyler’s approach, he engages clients’s past to help each client see for themselves why their experiences can affect their present moment.
