Christy Horne is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (license #C010384). She earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University in 2014 and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Human Services from Peace College in 2011. Christy’s professional history includes working with college students at NC State University providing alcohol screenings, assessments, and intervention, providing individual and group therapy in a private practice setting, working in the field of eating disorders at a residential treatment center, providing in-home therapy and housing case management with adults who were formerly homeless and living with a persistent mental illness, and outpatient therapy at a non-profit community mental health agency. She enjoys working with adults, teens, and adolescents who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, mood disorders, family dynamics, anger, relationship concerns, school/work stressors, and unhealthy communication patterns. She enjoys guiding clients through intuitive eating practices to promote a healthy relationship to food and body image; to feel good in your body without judgment and influence from diet culture.

She uses a variety of therapies, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior therapy techniques. When not at work, Christy enjoys being in nature as much as possible, hiking our local state parks, Carolina basketball, spending time with friends and family, and her orange tabby cat, Otis.
