Eva Marie Cartwright is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She also has a Master of Science in Forensic Science from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Eva enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults from a wide variety of backgrounds and has effectively provided therapy to individuals coping with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma disorders, behavioral issues, life changes, self-esteem issues, and interpersonal issues, as well as many others. Eva also has experience with counseling families, utilizing family systems theory, and couples, utilizing Gottman Couples Counseling. Eva provides pre-marital counseling and is a SYMBIS facilitator.
Eva believes that therapy is a collaborative effort with clients and will work to help clients feel empowered to take control of their lives. She knows that it can often be uncomfortable for a client who is just starting therapy and works to ensure each client feels heard in the warm and encouraging therapeutic environment. Eva utilizes individualized approaches for each client that incorporates evidenced-based approaches to different degrees based on the need, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and mindfulness techniques.
