Nicole Clancy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University, she then obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke as well as additional graduate training specializing in addictions and substance abuse counseling from UNCP.

Nicole gained experience providing therapy to individuals and groups at Methodist University before joining the Haymount family in 2020. She has provided effective therapy to adolescents and adults from different walks of life including the LGBTQ+ community, individuals coping with grief and loss, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, OCD, ADHD, and adjustment disorders among others. Operating from a person-centered approach, Nicole aims to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic space using tools tailored to fit each client’s needs. She incorporates evidenced-based interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, as well as holistic wellness techniques. In addition, she enjoys harnessing the healing and restorative power of creativity in session.

In her spare time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her dogs, poorly tending to house plants, and refinishing pre-loved furniture.
